Charminar Express Derails at Nampally Railway Station: Five Injured

Hyderabad, 10th January 2024: In a harrowing incident, three coaches of the Charminar Express, en route from Hyderabad to Chennai, derailed at Nampally railway station in Hyderabad. The incident occurred at approximately 9:15 in the morning, causing concern and disruption to the routine of passengers. Notably, Nampally is the final destination of the train.

South Central Railway (SCR) officials provided insights into the incident, stating that the train was moving slowly as it approached the station. However, it failed to come to a complete stop at the designated location, leading to the derailment of three coaches—S2, S3, and S6.

Officials further revealed that six passengers suffered injuries due to the shock caused by the derailment. CPRO Rakesh of South Central Railway informed the media that the injured individuals were standing near the door of the train at the time of the incident. Fortunately, the injuries were reported as minor, and all affected passengers are currently receiving medical treatment at the Railway Hospital.
