Pune, 24th May 2022: The Maharashtra education department has begun the process of de-recognition of 27 schools in the Pune district while the hearing of seven schools is underway.
As per rule, a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the state government is required to start a school. “There are 34 schools in the Pune district that have not submitted the requisite details on the unified district information system for education (UDISE) portal. We will recover Rs one lakh fine from each of them and if the school continues to operate then Rs 10,000 per day fine will be imposed further”, said Dinkar Temkar, director of the primary education department.
Maharashtra education commissioner Suraj Mandhre, said, “Before taking admissions, the parents must check the details of the status of the school.”
