Chhath Festival Begins with Nahai Khai Celebrations, Check Locations in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad
Pune, 5th November 2024: The vibrant festival of Chhath, a celebration deeply rooted in folk faith, has commenced today with the observance of Nahai Khai. This first day of the four-day festival emphasizes the importance of consuming gourd vegetable, gram dal, and rice (bhaat).
Participants pay special attention to purity and sanctity throughout the preparation and consumption of these foods. The festival will culminate on Friday, November 8, with the offering of arghya to the rising sun.
The Chhath festival spans four days, commencing with Nahai Khai today. Following this, Kharna will be observed on November 6, the evening Arghyadan will take place on November 7, and Parana will occur after the morning Arghya on November 8. The festivities will conclude with these rituals, celebrating the rich cultural heritage associated with Chhath Puja.
