Pimpri Chinchwad Police Arrest Two for Murder Linked to Past Grievance
Dehu Road, 5th November 2024: Pimpri Chinchwad Police have arrested two individuals for murdering a man over a trivial reason. The incident stemmed from a past animosity related to the deceased hitting the duo’s tin shed. Keeping this grievance in mind, the suspects confronted the victim and struck him with a wooden rod on his head and back. The arrests were made by the Detection Branch (DB) of the Dehu Road Police Station.
The deceased has been identified as Amod Kumar Mohit Yadav. His brother, Pramod Mohit Yadav, a resident of Talawade, filed a complaint with the Dehu Road Police Station. The police arrested Bhogendra Kumar Jokhan Saday (age 23, resident of Bihar) and Jayprakash Ram Kisan Saday (age 19, resident of Katraj).
The charges against them include sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS): 103(1) (punishment for murder), 118(1) (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 109 (attempt to murder), 351(3) (criminal intimidation), and 3(5) (acts done by several individuals in furtherance of common intention).
According to police reports, due to a prior quarrel regarding the victim banging into their tin shed, the accused duo assaulted him with a wooden rod to his head and back. The victim sustained injuries and succumbed to them. The DB of Dehu Road Police Station arrested Bhogendra Kumar from Shikrapur within two hours, during which he confessed to committing the crime with the help of Jayprakash. Jayprakash was apprehended at Kurla Railway Station while attempting to flee to his native place in Bihar. The duo has been granted police custody until November 8.
This operation was conducted under the guidance of senior officials and led by Senior Police Inspector Vijay Waghmare, with Police Inspector (Crime) Vijay Kumar Wakase, along with Police Sub Inspectors Sohan Dhotre and Ajay Kumar Rathod, and Police Constables Kiran Khedkar, Balasaheb Vidhate, Praveen Mane, Prashant Mali, Ketan Kangude, Santosh Mahadik, Yuvraj Mane, Shubham Bawankar, Khandu Viranak, and Mangesh Lokhande.
