Chiller Conclave and Heat Pump Carnival-2023 Organized by ISHRAE Pune Chapter
Pune, 10th September 2023: The ISHRAE Pune Chapter successfully hosted the “Chiller Conclave and Heat Pump Carnival-2023” at Hotel Tip Top on September 9th, 2023.
This year’s event centered around the theme “Exploring the Journey into the Future of Cooling and Heating Solutions.” It aimed to provide a platform for meaningful discussions on the future of energy-efficient technologies, aligning with ISHRAE’s Society Year theme, “Engage, Educate to Elevate,” with a specific focus on Decarbonization and Skill Development.
The “Chiller Conclave and Heat Pump Carnival-2023” was meticulously organized by ISHRAE Pune Chapter, with Ashutosh Joshi serving as the Convener and Chetan Thakur as the Co-Convener. The event received an overwhelmingly positive response from attendees, drawing HVAC industry stalwarts, with more than 225 delegates in attendance. The participants included ISHRAE members, representatives from Associate Societies, consultants, contractors, professionals from various industries, academia, and more.
The event featured Mr. K. Raghavan, Chairman of the Technical group of UVGI, as the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker. Mr. Raghavan highlighted the current market scenario, India’s role in Decarbonization and Sustainability, and how the usage of chillers and heat pumps will impact India’s path towards achieving Carbon Net Zero by 2070.
Dr. Anand Babu, Associate Consultant at Genex Consultants and Distinguished Guest Speaker, shed light on the vital role of chillers and heat pumps in providing energy-efficient solutions for comfort and hot water in hospital settings.
Dr. Nitin Deodhar, Founder of NM Deodhar Consulting Engineers and a subject matter expert, emphasized that the selection of chiller capacity should be guided and backed by uncertainty analysis for optimum performance.
The event’s highlight was a panel discussion on the topic of “Energy-Efficient Chiller or Cost-Effective Chiller.” The discussion was moderated by Mr. Jayant Deshpande, a Presidential Member of the Chapter, and featured eminent panelists from the HVAC industry, including Ajaz Kazi, Mr. Sagar Munishwar, Sandeep Anand, Gajanan Khot, and Rahul Phansalkar. The panelists shared valuable insights based on their experiences and factors influencing the chiller selection process.
