Chinchwad Constituency: Rahul Kalate Gains Support for Addressing Traffic, Garbage, and Women’s Health Issues
Chinchwad, 2nd November 2024: As anti-incumbency sentiments grow against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Chinchwad, residents are rallying behind Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) candidate Rahul Kalate. Many believe Kalate is the right candidate to address the long-standing issues in the area, citing his successful push for the cancellation of a proposed garbage depot in Punawale and his efforts in raising traffic concerns with the Central Government.
A major focus of Kalate’s campaign is women’s empowerment and overall development. He has spearheaded initiatives such as health camps, which reached over 50,000 women through a breast cancer awareness campaign. Just before Diwali, Kalate interacted with women from several housing societies in Punawale and Ravet, where local issues were discussed. Many residents, including society office-bearers, expressed frustration over the lack of attention given to the area’s growing problems.
One resident, Komal Jadhav, shared her support for Kalate, saying, “Rahul Dada has a clear vision for development. His work on parks, roads, and women’s health initiatives shows his dedication. We believe Rahul Dada will bring real progress to our area.”
Chinchwad residents, particularly IT professionals, continue to grapple with challenges such as garbage disposal, traffic congestion, narrow highway underpasses, deteriorating service roads, and the absence of footpaths and parks. Kalate has actively engaged with relevant authorities to resolve these issues, following up through correspondence and meetings.
Kalate said, “Despite years of being represented by those in power, Chinchwad’s problems persist. There’s growing dissatisfaction among citizens, especially educated voters. Many residents have shared their hopes with me, and they believe change is coming. This trust is the best Diwali gift I could ask for, and I am committed to delivering on my promise to transform Chinchwad.”
