City’s very own Pune Design Festival on February 16-17

Pune, February 15, 2018: An exceptional conference to celebrate the power of creativity and design thinking, Pune Design Festival (PDF) will be organised by Association of Designers of India (ADI). This 12th edition of PDF conference based on the theme of ‘DESIGNISM’ will be in the city from February16-17 at Hotel Hyatt Regency Pune.

The two days PDF18 conference discuss Designists’ perspective of design as a principle and ideology contributing to creation of better systems, services, products and communication. It will have 22 highly interactive talks, 6 workshops, 3 movie screenings, 2 mentoring sessions, a panel discussion and exciting design awards nights. One of the highlights of PDF 2018 will be a memorial session on Late Prof MP Ranjan conducted by Neils Peter Flint, sustainability visionary and Swapnil Chaturvedi, social innovator.

PDF18 conference will open at 9 am on February 16 with a keynote by Padma Bunker Roy, founder, Barefoot College. Opening keynote will be followed by K V Sridhar (Pops) of Hyper Collective and Internationally acclaimed cross-cultural designer Tarek Atrissi from Europe. As a unique musical tradition of this conference will have a sarod jam between father-son product designer duo of Bhargav & Neeraj Mistry.

The conference will be concluded on February 17 with keynote by Sonal Dabral of Ogilvy India. Also, on the final day the first edition of Lexus Design Awards in India will be unveiled.

Another segment of PDF is ‘DESIGN EXPO’ which is a concurrent event taking place at Ishanya Mall between February 16 to 18 2018. This expo will witness participation of various prominent design institutes from all over the country. The entry to expo is open to public and would be an ideal opportunity for anyone who is considering design as a career.
