CM Fadnavis gives instructions on expansion of Shirdi Airport

Mumbai, July 10, 2019 : Shirdi Airport has been receiving a great response from passengers. Taking into account the increasing number of passengers, expansion of Shirdi Airport should be done and post this, a new terminal building should be constructed. The old terminal should be expedited immediately, till the completion of this building, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis here instructed today.

A meeting of the Board of Directors of Maharashtra Airport Development Company was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister and Chairman of Maharashtra Airport Development Company Devendra Fadnavis in Sahyadri Guest House. In this time, Mr.Fadnavis was speaking. During the meeting, a review of the flights, which have been commenced under the Udan scheme and ‘Regional Connectivity Scheme’, has also been taken. In addition to this, the Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of the Airports in Barora of Amaravati, Purandar, Solapur and Chandrapur, which are being constructed on behalf of the company.

JSR Dynamics, a manufacturer of military equipment for Defense Hub in the Mihan Special Economic Zone, has demanded the land. A decision has been taken to give 27 acres of land to this company in the meeting. Some companies have shown interest in starting their units in Mihan, said Chief Minister.

Work on the airport at Amravati has been started. He also said that the works on all other airports and runways should be started with pace.

Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance department, Rajiv Jalota, Additional Chief Secretary of the Industry department, Satish Gavai, Principal Secretary of Urban development department, Nitin Kareer, Principal Secretary of General administration department (GAD) Valsa Nair Singh, CIDCO Managing Director Lokesh Chandra, MADC Vice Chairman and Managing Director Suresh Kakani were present in the meeting.
