CM Uddhav Thackeray Warns Of Strict Lockdown Across Maharashtra

Mumbai, March 14, 2021: Cases of corona virus infection have started increasing rapidly in Maharashtra. Due to this, the Corona crisis is once again deepening in the country. In the last 24 hours, about 16 thousand new corona cases have come up in Maharashtra, due to which the situation in the country is deteriorating.

Meanwhile, the Uddhav Thackeray government in Maharashtra has given a final warning regarding strict lockdown across Maharashtra. The government has warned in a cautious tone not to force the state government to implement stringent measures like lockdown.

The lockdown is in force in several areas of Maharashtra including Nagpur, Akola, Parbhani, and Aurangabad due to increasing cases of corona virus infection. If the Corona cases continue to grow and negligence continues, the Uddhav government may announce a lockdown all over Maharashtra.

This lockdown will continue till 8 am on Monday 15 March. It was decided to put a lockdown in Maharashtra’s Parbhani district on Friday night from 12 noon to March 15 at 6 am. At the same time, a night curfew has been implemented in Pune from 11 pm to 6 am. Earlier, the Maharashtra government had decided to impose a lockdown in Nagpur from March 15 to March 21.

Highest number of cases in Maharashtra

Corona virus infection cases are increasing rapidly in the country. Most of these cases have been reported in Maharashtra. Along with Maharashtra and Kerala, now cases are also increasing in Punjab, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. Nearly 16 thousand new cases have been found in Maharashtra. More than 15,800 new cases of corona virus were recorded in Maharashtra on Saturday, increasing the number of cases to 22,97,793, while 88 more patients died due to the epidemic taking the total death toll to 52,811.

Restrictions tightened in Maharashtra

Weekend lockdown has been imposed in Aurangabad. Apart from this, a night curfew has been imposed in Pune. Schools have been closed in several districts including Amravati, Nashik, Thane, and Aurangabad. Also, strict restrictions have been imposed in these districts. In Mumbai, strictness has been increased for those who do not wear masks.
