Pune, 1st January 2025: After a brief spell of unseasonal warmth, cold weather has made a comeback in Pune and its surrounding areas. Over the past 24 hours, the minimum temperature dropped by 3°C to 4°C, with Haveli recording the lowest at 13.3°C, followed by 13.9°C in NDA and 15.3°C in Shivajinagar.

The recent unseasonal rains had pushed minimum and maximum temperatures to an unusual high of 20°C, causing the winter chill to disappear and lead to warmer days. However, the sudden dip in temperatures has brought a noticeable chill back to the evenings, particularly in areas like Haveli, NDA, Pashan, Malin, and Shivajinagar, where the mercury has fallen by 2°C to 3°C.

The Pune Division of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dry weather and clear skies over the next two days. A further drop of 1°C to 2°C in the minimum temperature is expected, accompanied by light fog in the mornings.
