Collector declares holiday in schools, colleges in 4 talukas on Wednesday

Pune, August 6, 2019 : The Pune district administration has declared holidays on Wednesday in all schools, colleges, located in four talukas of the district due to heavy rains since Saturday.

Pune district collector Naval Kishore Ram issued order in this regard today. Due to incessant rains, the district administration had declared holidays in schools and colleges on Monday and Tuesday. Things have normalised in some parts including Pune city but other parts of the district are still struggling with rain and flood water. Hence, the schools and colleges located in Maval, Mulshi, Bhor and Velha talukas, have been asked to remain closed on Wednesday.

The state government’s education department has authorised all district collectors in Maharashtra, to take decision of declaring holidays based on situations in their respective areas.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted more rains in the state.
