Colleges, Universities Asked to Update Course & Fee Data on MahaDBT Portal for 2025-26 Scholarships
Pune, 29th July 2025: Colleges and universities across Maharashtra have been directed to update their institutional data on the MahaDBT (Maharashtra Direct Benefit Transfer) portal to ensure smooth implementation of various state-run scholarship schemes for the academic year 2025–26.
Issuing the directive, Dr. Shailendra Deolankar, Director of Higher Education, emphasised the need for all institutions to update accurate course-wise fee structures as per the fee regulations fixed by universities or the state government. Moreover, institutions are required to upload official documents related to fee approvals on the portal.
The MahaDBT portal is the centralised platform through which the state government runs a wide array of scholarship schemes. This includes 14 scholarship schemes managed by the Directorate of Higher Education alone. For students to successfully apply and receive benefits under these schemes, institutions must have verified and updated profiles on the portal.
Key data to be updated includes:
-Name and address of the college/university
-Details of the clerk and principal
-Mobile numbers
-List of academic courses and fee structure
This update facility has been live on the portal since June 17, 2025, and institutions are required to complete the process by December 1, 2025, according to the department.
For schemes under the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department, 16 types of additional fees are covered. However, only 10 of these components are currently reflected on the portal. Therefore, colleges must fill in the rest manually. In case of any changes in the approved fee structure by the responsible authority, institutions must also reflect those updates on the portal accordingly.
Institutions have been reminded that scholarship eligibility and disbursement will strictly adhere to the course and fee data submitted and approved by relevant bodies like the Regional Joint Director of Education, Fee Regulatory Authority, or Tuition Fee Committees.
Institutions must enter course fee details for the duration of the course plus an additional two years, as required. Once the data is verified and approved, no further changes will be allowed, and the scholarships will be disbursed based on this verified information only.
The Directorate has cautioned all colleges and universities to exercise strict accuracy and vigilance during this update process to avoid any disruptions in scholarship disbursement for eligible students.
