Command Hospital Pune Achieves Double Recognition with ISO Certification and RMT Honour
Pune, 25th April 2026: that Command Hospital, Southern Command has achieved a major milestone by securing ISO 9001:2015 certification for its Central Kitchen and Mechanical Laundry Services, setting a new benchmark in military healthcare support systems.
According to officials, the hospital has become the first Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) facility in the country to receive this certification for these services. The recognition highlights adherence to high standards in quality management, hygiene, operational efficiency and patient-centric care.
The hospital’s Central Kitchen has also been awarded certification by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), reinforcing its focus on providing safe, hygienic and nutritionally balanced meals to patients as per prescribed dietary requirements.
This achievement follows closely after the hospital was honoured with the prestigious Raksha Mantri Trophy, further strengthening its reputation as a centre of excellence in military healthcare and institutional best practices.
Officials said the Central Kitchen manages the planning, preparation and distribution of meals tailored to patients’ medical needs, while the Mechanical Laundry ensures scientific processing of hospital linen in line with strict infection control norms.
The certification reflects the coordinated efforts, professionalism and commitment of the hospital’s staff in enhancing healthcare support services for serving personnel, veterans and their families.
