New Delhi, 19th July 2021: The University Grants Commission on Sunday said that the Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) will not be implemented for undergraduate courses in the academic session 2021-20 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Admission will be on the basis of examination.
The UGC has tweeted, “In view of the current COVID-19 pandemic, admission to Central Universities for the academic session 2021-22 will be as per the old procedure. The Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) is likely to be implemented from the academic session 2022-23.”
As suggested in the New Education Policy, 2020 of the Union Ministry of Education, a committee has been constituted to look into the modalities of CUCET for admission to all undergraduate courses in central universities.
