Common man’s ST is not out 71, anniversary to be celebrated statewide on June 1
Mumbai, May 30:- The ST (Maharashtra State Road transport corporation) MSRTC buses popularly known as ‘Lalpari’ which has been engaged in taking passengers to and fro restlessly since last seven decades is going to celebrate its 71st anniversary on June 1st. The celebration will be organized state wide in all departments and district level offices of State Transport Corporation and 568 Bus stands. This information was given by transport minister and chairman of ST Corporation Diwakar Raote.
The ‘Lal pari’ has been giving service to the people of the state from urban to rural areas and from every nook and corner of all the districts. It has undergone various changes which were welcome by the commuters. The ST is not only playing the role of being the career of passengers from one place to another, but it has also been consistently abiding to its social commitment. In the situation of drought and other natural calamities, the ST has always been giving a helping hand to the people. In order to bring the female children into mainstream by educating them, ST has taken initiative.
Mr Raote said that the ST started with Lal pari and it has undergone various changes and modernization with Hirkani, Shivneri, Shivshahi to Vithai gradually step-by-step. Its 71st anniversary will be celebrated at all the bus stops of State transport in the state and the newly elected members of parliament (MP’s) will also be felicitated at the district level offices, said Mr Raote.
A magnificent program has also been organized by the Head office of ST in Mumbai. This program is organized on the occasion of anniversary at Gokuldas Tejpal auditorium. Minister Diwakar Raote will be presiding over the function and minister of state for Transport Vijay Deshmukh, vice president and managing director of ST Ranjit Singh Deol, General Manager of ST, all senior officers, employees, representative of organizations and other dignitaries will be present on the occasion. Before that, a program will start with the evergreen poems of senior poet Ashok Naigaonkar and Ramdas Phutane. After this, the newly elected Member of Parliament Arvind Sawant will be felicitated. Similarly, the senior employees and those who has done outstanding job while discharging their service in the ST board, will also be awarded for the laudable work. Cinestar Medha Dadhe will be the main attraction of this program. The ‘ChitraRath’ of ST will also be inaugurated on the occasion. The president of State Transport Corporation Mr Diwakar Raote has given compliments to all the officers and employees of the ST on its 71st anniversary.
