Pune, 26th March 2023: The Pune Divisional Higher Education Department has raised concern about the increasing number of scholarship applications that are pending at the college level. Currently, 14,577 applications are pending for verification, and the higher education department has issued instructions to higher education institutions not to keep student scholarship applications pending.

Despite previous clarifications regarding the verification process at the college level after students apply online for scholarship schemes on the MahaDBT website, many applications remain pending. Data published by the higher education department indicates that 14,577 scholarship applications are still pending for verification over the last four years.

To avoid future problems, student scholarship applications must be processed daily and verified at the college level promptly. Pending applications can prevent students from applying for scholarships in the next academic year, making timely verification a top priority. The higher education department has made it clear that scholarship applications should not be pending at the university level. The Registrar of the concerned University and the Principal of the College will be held responsible for any future issues arising from pending applications due to lack of verification.

Of the 14,577 pending applications, 6,355 have pending scholarship applications for three years from 2020-21 to 2022-23. Additionally, 8,222 applications are pending at the college level for the second installment over the last four years.
