Mumbai/Pune, 28th May 2024: Following the fatal collision involving a speeding Porsche and a two-wheeler in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar on 19th May, claiming two lives, Nana Patole, the Maharashtra State President of the Indian National Congress, criticized the state government for lack of transparency. Patole alleged that there might have been another occupant in the car, urging the revelation of their identity. His remarks have ignited speculation regarding the involvement of an influential individual’s son in the incident.

During a media interaction in Mumbai, Patole raised concerns about recent controversies, including the Lalit Patil case and allegations of tampering with blood samples at Sassoon Hospital. He also cited instances from Nagpur and Jalgaon, where individuals from affluent families allegedly received preferential treatment after being involved in accidents. Patole called upon Maharashtra’s Home Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, to take responsibility and resign.

Questioning the timing of pub closures in Pune following the Porsche incident, Patole highlighted MLA Ravindra Dhangekar’s long standing campaign against the city’s pub culture. He also called upon Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Pune’s guardian minister, to address these discrepancies. Patole criticized the administration’s response under Pawar’s leadership.
