Coordinated Efforts Urged to Resolve Industrial Sector Issues in Pune: Divisional Commissioner Pulkundwar
Pune, 11th July 2025: In a decisive move to address the challenges faced by the industrial sector, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Chandrakant Pulkundwar has directed all relevant departments to work in close coordination. The directive came during a high-level meeting at Vidhan Bhavan, where top officials, including Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh and District Collector Jitendra Dudi, discussed strategies for improving infrastructure and resolving ongoing industrial issues.
Dr. Pulkundwar emphasized that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar are seriously committed to resolving industrial problems, particularly those affecting key areas like the Hinjawadi-Maan Information Technology Park (IT Park). Recent concerns such as waterlogging and power outages in these zones were discussed at a Mumbai meeting, signaling the government’s intent to ensure the growth and stability of Pune’s industrial sector.
The administration has been tasked with providing essential infrastructure, such as uninterrupted power supply, water, and roads, to industries across Pune district. The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has been instructed to prioritize these needs, while local agencies have been told to repair potholes and ensure cleanliness both within and outside industrial zones.
To further strengthen the region’s power infrastructure, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has been asked to upgrade feeders, substations, and transmission lines. Data collection and analysis on power supply fluctuations to local industries will be conducted to identify and implement effective solutions.
Authorities from the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), Pune Zilla Parishad, and Maharashtra Revenue Department have been told to remove encroachments on roads, while the Public Works Department (PWD) and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) must ensure that such issues do not recur.
In addition to infrastructure, efforts are underway to enhance healthcare services at the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation Hospital (ESIC Hospital) in Chinchwad, with plans to pursue advanced equipment through central government support and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding from companies.
District Collector Dudi reiterated the state government’s commitment to industrial growth in areas like Pimpri-Chinchwad, Chakan, Ranjangaon, Hinjawadi, Talegaon, Jejuri, and Baramati. Regular meetings with industry associations are planned to ensure that concerns are addressed promptly and efficiently.
Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) Managing Director Deepa Mudhol-Munde assured that bus services for industrial workers will be scheduled and routed as per company requests, further supporting workforce mobility.
