Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Meets IT Professionals, Promises Swift Action on Hinjawadi Infrastructure Issues
Mumbai, 10th July 2025: In a landmark engagement, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held an extensive meeting to address the longstanding infrastructure issues plaguing Hinjawadi IT Park. The interaction, marked by an inclusive and solution-oriented approach, was initiated with a directive from the CM to ensure all attending IT professionals were seated, a gesture prompted by BJP’s Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge, reinforcing the government’s commitment to an open dialogue with citizens.
The meeting brought together key officials from PMRDA, MIDC, PWD, Metro, PCMC, and PMC, and included a detailed presentation by the PMRDA-MIDC team. Seven representatives from the #UnclogHinjawadiITPark movement, Sachin Siddhe, Sachin Gunale, Ankit Kothari, Sachin Londhe, Archana Thakur, Atul B., and Pradip M., presented a 57-page document outlining major problems and practical solutions to tackle traffic congestion and infrastructure challenges.
E-petitioner Sachin Londhe told that Deputy CM Ajit Pawar responded positively, requesting a second copy of the document for implementation reference, while CM Fadnavis appreciated the suggestion to promote carpooling.
Key Concerns Raised:
– Metro Connectivity: Delays in security checks, lack of integration with feeder services, need for frequency based on ridership, and a proposal for underground metro lines in Pune and PCMC.
– IT Park Infrastructure: Narrow roads, inadequate parking near metro stations, and poor foot overbridge design.
– Utilities & Environment: Frequent MSEDCL failures, poor drainage, and severe potholes leading to the area being mockingly called “Hinjawadi Water Park.”
– Traffic & Parking: Absence of proper paid/free parking and single-lane roads leading to bottlenecks.
– Social Issues: Safety and basic facility concerns for women and reports of polluted water with red worms in residential societies.
– Wider City Infrastructure: Long-pending issues at Laxmi Chowk, Baner-Balewadi underpass, and national highway bottlenecks.
Key Suggestions:
– Promote Work from Home (WFH) during monsoon.
– Open all entry/exit points in Hinjawadi IT Park.
– Enforce time-bound civic work completion.
– Install left-free signals, CCTV cameras, and adopt a 30–60-day action plan.
– Appoint a single nodal authority for the IT Park.
– Launch an online grievance redressal system/portal.
To mark the occasion, the #UnclogHinjawadiITPark team presented a portrait of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to CM Fadnavis, expressing gratitude for the government’s response. The meeting ended with a symbolic group photo, reflecting a renewed spirit of collaboration between IT professionals and the state administration.
