Corona Help From Centre Stopped! 15,000 Health Workers Unemployed In Maharashtra

Pune, 4th September 2021: As the Centre stopped funding the Covid-19 funds, as many as 15,000 health workers from Maharashtra’s rural areas have been rendered unemployed. Besides that due to paucity of funds the treatment centres, special Covid centres and hospitals to have to reduce the staff.

 

Various Zilla Parishad issued a notification saying that the Emergency Covid Response Plan has been ended as it failed to get due permission for recruiting the manpower. Since there are no funds, the contract health workers have been shown doors.

 

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra State government has claimed that there is a reduction in the number of corona cases too in the State.

National Health Scheme Workers’ union has condemned the decision.

 

The secretary of the union Deepak Kulkarni said, “Since Centre has failed to provide the funds required for management of the manpower, the contract workers have been given the pink slips. However, even if there are no funds, Covid has not yet ended. Thus, we demand to recruit the staff again”.

 

Kulkarni said, “The workforce at Pune and Satara is 500 and 798 respectively”.
