Coronavirus: 11 staffs of a government hospital in Panvel fled

Mumbai, March 16, 2020: In a shocking incident, 11 persons mostly staffers of a government hospital in Panvel in Raigad district, fled after they learnt that one of their patients had returned from a country affected by Coronavirus, Times Now news channel reported.

 

The incident took place on Sunday at the sub-district hospital in Panvel. Raigad District Collector had ordered an enquiry.

 

This is not the first time that people have fled from the hospital. Earlier, five suspected patients of Coronavirus had fled from a hospital in Nagpur. Later they were traced. Again in Ahmednagar, three patients had fled and they were brought back.

 

The number of total positive cases in Maharashtra has increased to 37. The government has appealed people to come forward if they have any symptom and government is bearing all expenses for the treatment at government hospitals.
