Coronavirus: 80 New Patients Detected in Pune today, No New Case in PCMC

Pune, April 20, 2020: There was a massive increase in new Coronavirus positive patients in Pune today. With 80 new COVID19 patients, the total number of positive cases reached 642 in Pune city. There was no death until 7 pm; however, there are 14 critical patients in various hospitals.

Corona patient numbers have been steadily increasing over the past week. On Sunday, the number of new patients was 42. However, the number of patients today has almost doubled. Earlier, a maximum of 65 new patients was reported in a single day.

According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), till now samples of 3969 persons have been tested out of which 3343 have tested negative. Positive patients are undergoing treatment in municipal and private hospitals. The highest number of them,185, are admitted at PMC run Naidu hospital. The municipality has also stated that the nature of 14 people in various hospitals is critical.

No new patient in PCMC area today
Although the number of coronavirus positive patients has reached 62 in areas under Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), there was no new case today. Out of 62, till now 18 of them have been cured and discharged from hospitals while one person has died. Currently, 43 people are undergoing treatment. Of these, 36 are undergoing treatment at YCM, six in Pune and one on Parbhani. One patient is from Khadki.

809 patients in Pune division
According to Pune Divisional Commissioner Dr Deepak Mhaisekar, the number COVID19 patients have reached 809 in Pune division which includes districts of Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur and Solapur. 107 of them have recovered and returned home. There are 647 active patients. A total of 55 patients have died till now.

Out of 809 patients, 734 were infected in Pune district and 50 died in the district. In Satara district, out of 14 positive patients, 2 have died. Solapur district has 25 affected patients and 2 have died. Sangli district has 27 affected patients and 1 patient has died. There are 9 affected patients in Kolhapur district. Till date, a survey of 42 lakh 37 thousand 758 houses have been completed and under this, 1 crore 60 lakh 82 thousand 664 persons have been examined.
