Coronavirus cases increase to 105 in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, 26 cured till now

Pune, April 5, 2020: There were 17 new Coronavirus positive cases in Pune district today and the total tally reached 105. Three patients died of Coronavirus in last 24 hours and the total deaths due to this deadly virus have reached 5.

Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol said, “Today three persons died due to COVID19. The total cases in Pune city have reached 77 and till now 14 people have been cured and discharged from the hospitals. There are 7 positive cases in Pune rural areas.”

According to Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), the total number of positive cases has reached 21 in Pimpri-Chinchwad areas, while 12 of them have been cured and discharged.

According to health department officials, a 52-year-old man from Kasewadi, Bhavani Peth and a 60 year-old-woman from Laxminagar, Yerwada, died of COVID19 at Sassoon hospital. Another 69-year-old woman from Gultekdi has succumbed to COVID19. The man was suffering from blood pressure and diabetes.

The 60-year-old woman had earlier tested negative when she underwent treatment at Naidu hospital. She was discharged and sent home. Her condition deteriorated and she was taken to Sassoon Hospital on April 3. She was declared dead on arrival and swab was taken for testing. The report indicated she was Coronavirus positive. She has no foreign travel history.

According to Maharashtra Health Department, total number of #Coronavirus positive cases in Maharashtra has increased to 748 after 113 positive cases reported in the state today so far, 56 people have been discharged after recovering from the disease. The death toll in Maharashtra, due to #Coronavirus, increased to 45 after 13 new deaths were reported today – 8 in Mumbai, 3 in Pune and 1 each in Kalyan, Dombivali and Aurangabad.

Across the country, there were 505 new cases, and India’s COVID-19 tally increased to 3577 including 83 deaths. A total of 274 persons have been cured and discharged from hospitals, said Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
