Coronavirus: Pune district administration directs schools, colleges to take precaution; four schools shut

Pune, March 10, 2020: In the backdrop of five persons testing positive for Coronavirus in Pune in the last 24 hours, the Pune district administration has directed the schools and colleges to take precaution. No order to close down the educational institutions has been issued till now, Pune District Collector Naval Kishor Ram said.

However, as many parents started putting queries to the management of various schools, at least four schools have decided to remain closed till Saturday or the next couple of days.

Nanded City School and Pawar Public School, both located in Nanded City, and DSK School located in Dhayari, and Sarhad School, Katraj, will remain closed till Saturday or the next few days.

Primary education director Dattatray Jagtap said that as of now no order has been issued to close down schools. However, the administration has asked to take precautionary steps to stop the spread of Coronavirus.
