Coronavirus Pune: Till now 325 Patients Cured, Discharged from Hospitals in Pune city

Pune, May 2, 2020: While the number of new Coronavirus positive COVID19 is increasing rapidly every day, there is good news for Punekars as many have been successfully cured and discharged from hospitals. Yesterday, the total number of positive patients until now reached 1611.

According to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) health department officials, out of 1611 total positive patients 325 of them have been cured and discharged from hospitals. They are healthy and leading a normal life now. Among those successfully treated in Pune are a four-month-old boy and 92-year-old woman. Therefore, people of all age groups can be cured of Coronavirus, officials said.

On Friday till 9 pm, a total of 51 patients were discharged in a single day. There were also seven deaths on Friday. Till now 91 people have lost their lives due to the deadly virus in Pune city. However, the mortality rate of patients is dropping and it has come down to 5.6% from earlier 6.5%. The national average is 3.3% while for Maharashtra it is 4.4%.

Out of 15 ward offices under the PMC, the most affected are Bhawani Peth, Dhole Patil Road, Shivajinagar-Ghole road, Yerwada-Kalas-Dhanori and Kasba Vishrambaugwada and Dhankawadi-Sahakarnagar ward offices. They have about 90% of the total positive patients in Pune city.

PMC has appealed to all the citizen of Pune city to come forward if they are having flu-like symptoms and visit the nearest flu clinics. A total of 1524 staffs of PMC are deployed on the field to contain the Coronavirus outbreak. Since the last 10 days, average 50,000 households are being surveyed daily. A total of 934 survey teams are working on the ground.

A total of 15,597 persons in the Pune district including Pune city have been tested for corona, out of which 1815 persons are infected with COVID19. Of these, 361 patients have been cured and 99 patients have died. 1355 patients are still undergoing treatment. Out of 1815, there are 113 from PCMC areas and 42 from Pune, Khadki and Dehuroad cantonments.
