Pune- 5 Corona positive patients cured and discharged

Pune,2 May 2020 – 5 patients diagnosed with corona infection were treated at Smt. Kashibai Navale General Hospital located at Narhe, in Pune and cured. They were discharged yesterday 1st May 2020.

The 5 patients include 3 males and 2 females, one being a 70 year female and the other is 42 years old female. The age of the male patients are 17 years, 44 years and 52 years. All of them hail from Old Bazar, Khadki, Pune. One of the patients has medical history of hypertension, cardiac problems and diabetes. The 70 year old lady was also known case of DM, HTN and CVA, diabetes, hypertension and stroke in the year 2012.

KCB CEO Pramod Kumar Singh said, “Out of total 21 patients till now in Khadki, six have been discharged from hospitals after being cured while two patients have died. There are still 13 active patients. 10 of them are admitted to KCB’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Cantonment hospital, while three are admitted hospital outside KCB.’
The 5 patients had tested positive for corona virus and were admitted into Smt. Kashibai Navale General Hospital. They were discharged yesterday after medical treatment as per protocol. They are all cured as their two consecutive swab reports are negative. The two swabs were taken on the 14th and 15th day. Patients who are old run a high risk due to age related weakening of the immune systems. People with high blood pressure, diabetes also come under high risk category if they become corona infected. In the case of the 70 year old lady, she not only had the risk due to advanced age but was also a known patient of diabetes, hypertension and stroke.

Members of the team including doctors and others can be seen in the video below, showering flowers on the patients leaving the hospital after being discharged ,completing all formalities. The patients conveyed their immense gratitude to the doctors and entire team for nursing them back to good health, helping them to recover completely.
