Coronavirus Pune: Woman corporator, husband, son found Corona positive in Yerwada area

Pune, April 30, 2020: A shocking case has come to light in Yerwada suburb where a woman corporator and her son have been detected Coronavirus positive. They are being treated at a private hospital in Pune. A few days back, the corporator’s husband was also found to be positive.

Corona is growing rapidly in Pune city and suburbs, and the number of patients is increasing day by day. Despite many efforts by the administration, the number of infected patients does not seem to be decreasing. At such a time, the husband of a corporator who was travelling among the citizens for relief work was initially infected with the coronavirus. The corporator and her son were then tested as a precautionary measure.

The report of the two came positive on Monday. At present, everyone’s condition is stable, the hospital said. Sources said that the office-bearer who was walking with the corporator’s husband was also infected with the coronavirus. The police have appealed to the citizens to stay at home and cooperate with the administration.

According to PMC officials till 9 pm yesterday, two patients died during treatment while 27 patients including four senior citizens were discharged after being cured. There are still 1121 active patients including 70 critical patients.

There were 104 fresh cases of Coronavirus positive patients in Pune district till 9 pm yesterday, as per the Pune district health officer (DHO) Dr Bhagwan Pawar. Till now a total of 268 patients have been cured while 86 patients have died.

Health minister Rajesh Tope said that the current count of COVID19 patients in the state of Maharashtra is 9915. Yesterday, newly 597 patients have been identified as positive for Covid19. From these,1593 Covid19 patients have been cured and discharged from the respective hospitals. Currently, 1,62,860 people are in-home quarantine and 10,813 people are in institutional quarantine.
