COVID-19 vaccination drive at Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate begins today

Pimpri-Chinchwad, February 9, 2021: The vaccination drive against the coronavirus (COVID-19) commenced on Tuesday at the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate.

The first vaccine was given to Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash, while the second vaccine was administered to Additional Commissioner of Police Ramnath Pokale.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Nandkumar Pinjan, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate has more than 3,100 police personnel. All of them will be vaccinated against COVID-19 within the next two to three days.

A jumbo vaccination centre has been set up at the Commissionerate office located in Chinchwad. All police personnel in the city’s police force will be vaccinated at the vaccination centre.

All police stations under the commissionerate have been informed regarding the same. All police officials from each police station will travel to Chinchwad for receiving the vaccine.

During the COVID-19-induced lockdown period, only police personnel and medical service providers in the city were working on the frontline. During which, many police personnel got infected with the virus and a few of them passed away.

The vaccination drive against COVID-19 began in early January and now the police force is being administered the vaccine.

Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash was the first to be vaccinated. After that, Additional Commissioner of Police Ramnath Pokale was given the vaccine.

All police personnel working in various branches and divisions of the commissionerate, including 15 stations, crime branch, traffic branch in the city’s police force, will be vaccinated as per the schedule.
