Pune, January 16, 2021: Symbiosis university hospital and research are one of the 3006 governments nominated nodal session site for giving COVID vaccine. The Taluka health officer had inspected the site for the readiness on 15th Jan 2021 and was extremely satisfied with our preparedness.

The session site was inaugurated today at 10.30 am by Dr SB Mujumdar, Chancellor Symbiosis international university. At the time of inauguration Dr Vidya Yervadekar, Pro-Chancellor, Dr Rajiv Yervadekar, Dean (Faculty of Health Sciences), Dr Ajit Karanjkar (Taluka Health officer), Dr Vijay Natarajan (Chief executive officer –Symbiosis University Hospital and Research Centre) were present.

The first batch of COVID vaccine was handed over by the THO to honourable Chancellor, Dr SB Mujumdar just prior to the inauguration

Dr Vijay Natarajan, renowned cardiothoracic surgeon and CEO of Symbiosis hospital was the first beneficiary to get the vaccine followed by other front line workers like doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff. Till now we have successfully administered vaccines to 97 staff. None of the staff who got the vaccine had any reaction or complaints.

CEO Dr Vijay Natarjan expressed that he feels absolutely normal after receiving the vaccine. In his interaction with the staff, he encouraged all to take the vaccine stating that it is a safe vaccine and it is in the best interest of us as individuals and collectively for the nation in this war against COVID.

The centre was visited by Dr Rajesh Deshmukh – Collector, Dr Abhay Chavan – Tehsildar, Dr Bhagwan Pawar – District Health Officer, Dr Sanjay Deshmukh, Deputy Director Health Services.

Collector Deshmukh interacted with beneficiaries who had received the vaccine and were under observation in the designated area.
