Hinjawadi: FIR Against Reddy’s Biryani For Not Following COVID Guidelines

Pune, October 17, 2020: An FIR has been registered against a restaurant owner in Hinjawadi for allegedly not complying with Coronavirus disease (COVID19) safety guidelines.

Based on a complaint from policeman Amar Rane, the case was filed yesterday against Mohan Chatkupalli Reddy (47), owner of Reddy’s Biryani located at Mezza9 chowk in Hinjawadi. 

According to police, there was a crowd outside the restaurant and customers were not wearing masks. They were also not following social distancing norms. All these are against COVID19 safety protocols. Therefore, the case has been registered.

Reddy has been charged for offences under sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
