CREDAI-Pune Metro Launches Massive Tree Plantation Drive on World Environment Day

Pune, 5th June 2025: CREDAI-Pune Metro, in collaboration with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), kick-started an ambitious Tree Plantation Drive today in Hadapsar to mark World Environment Day. This initiative is a key part of CREDAI-Pune Metro’s larger City Beautification Drive, reflecting its commitment to planting 25,000 trees all over Pune and its vision for a greener and sustainable Pune. The pledge officially began today, aligning with the significance of World Environment Day.
The drive commenced with the planting of approximately 1,000 trees using the Urban Forest method, a proven technique for creating dense forests in urban areas. Ahura Builders led the execution of the plantation, supported by a local NGO that began the planting with around 50 trees. The community will continue the plantation effort in the coming days under CREDAI Pune’s guidance.
The plantation initiative was undertaken under the leadership of Shri Naval Kishore Ram, the newly appointed PMC Commissioner, and Prashant Waghmare, Chief Engineer, PMC, and Mr. Manish Jain, President, CREDAI-Pune Metro. The event saw active participation from CREDAI Pune members, community volunteers, and environmental NGOs. A few dignitaries who were present at the event were Mr. Balasaheb Dhavale Patil, Assistant Commissioner, PMC; PMC Deputy Engineers Mr. Umesh Shidruk and Mr. Hanuman Khalate; Corporators Yogesh Suryanshi, Nanda Lonkar, Prachi Alhat, Manoj Aba Ghole Patil, and Pramod Bhangire.
Commenting on the event, Shri Naval Kishore Ram, said, “We greatly appreciate the tree plantation initiative undertaken by CREDAI-Pune Metro.
