Pune Traders Raise Major Concerns With Police

Pune, 16th June 2026: In an effort to enhance cooperation between the business community and law enforcement agencies, Pune City Police’s Zone 3 organised a traders’ interaction meeting at Bird Valley on Sinhagad Road on Monday evening.

The meeting, held under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Dr Sagar Kavde, brought together traders from the jurisdictions of the Sinhagad Road, Nanded City, Nanded Haveli, Kothrud, Warje, Uttamnagar and Alankar police stations. Senior police officials, including Assistant Commissioners of Police Vijay Kumbhar and Sujata Tanawade, were also present.

During the interaction, traders raised a wide range of issues affecting their day-to-day operations and public safety. Concerns related to traffic congestion, law and order, cybercrime prevention, online fraud, parking shortages, illegal handcart vendors, noise pollution caused by loudspeakers, and challenges arising from Metro, pipeline and drainage works were discussed. Representatives also highlighted problems posed by anti-social elements and demands for donations by various groups.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Kavde stressed the importance of stronger coordination between traders and the police administration. He assured participants that their grievances would be examined and appropriate action would be taken. He also appealed to traders to immediately inform the police about any suspicious individuals or activities.

Police officials advised business owners to install high-quality CCTV cameras at their establishments to improve security. They further announced that dedicated WhatsApp groups would be created at the police station level to facilitate prompt communication and address traders’ concerns efficiently. Regular interaction meetings with traders will also be held at police stations.

Around 80 to 100 traders attended the programme. Participants welcomed the initiative and expressed their commitment to extending full cooperation to the police administration.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both the police and the business community reaffirming their shared commitment to maintaining safety, security and public order across Pune’s Zone 3.
