Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple Now in Thailand, Bringing Global Devotion Closer

Phuket/Pune, 30th October 2024: The revered Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati, a symbol of deep faith and devotion in Pune, now has a global presence with the inauguration of a temple in Phuket, Thailand.
A grand procession was held in Pune on Wednesday, starting from the iconic Lal Mahal and concluding at the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple, to mark the ritualistic installation of the idol in Thailand. The event was attended by prominent members of the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Trust, including President Sunil Rasane, Vice President Manik Chavan, Treasurer Mahesh Suryavanshi, and several other officials and activists. The occasion was also graced by entrepreneur Papa Son Mipa, Chairman of Phuket 9 Real Estate Company Limited, who funded the construction of the temple in Phuket.
“Having the darshan of Dagdusheth Ganpati gives us immense energy,” said Papa Son Mipa. “Building a temple in Phuket once seemed impossible, but thanks to the cooperation of the Dagdusheth Ganapati Trust, it became a reality. We are incredibly happy and honored.” He also revealed that the Prime Minister of Thailand had inspected the temple, a testament to the significance of this new place of worship.
The new temple, named Lord Shrimant Ganapati Bappa Devalaya, stands 50 feet tall and is located at Rawai Beach in Phuket. It will serve as a spiritual hub for devotees from Thailand and neighboring regions. Alongside the main idol of Dagdusheth Ganpati, a smaller Panchdhatu idol and statues of Siddhi Mata, Buddhi Mata, Shri Lakshmi, and Shri Labh will be permanently installed. Similar to the Pune temple, the Phuket temple will also feature a shrine dedicated to Lord Shankara.
The main idol, crafted in Pune, is an exact replica of the Dagdusheth Ganapati idol and took one year and 20 days to complete. The total cost of building the temple in Phuket has reached Rs 9 crore so far, according to Trust President Sunil Rasane.
Temple Construction Completed in Record Time
The bhoomipujan (groundbreaking ceremony) for the temple in Phuket took place in July 2023, and in just a year and a half, the temple’s construction is almost complete. A sacred Ganesh Yantra has also been installed in the idol following proper rituals. The temple is expected to open to the public for darshan soon, offering a new spiritual destination for the global devotees of Dagdusheth Ganpati.
