Dashrath Mengal and Supriya Patil win ‘Pune Running Beyond Myself 2015’ half marathon for 21 kilometers
Pune, 11 October : Pune Running, a city based non – profit organization that creates awareness about benefits of running and staying fit among people, organized a special charity Walk and Run Marathon ‘Pune Running Beyond Myself 2015’ (PRBM 2015) in the city today. While Dashrath Mengal in Men category (time 1.19.18) and Supriya Patil in women category (time 1.27.08) wonthe half marathon for 21 kilometers and received Vespa Two Wheelers as prize, Palash Kalanki and Shweta Gawde won 10k half marathon and received trophy and Helios Watches as prize. In veteran Category, Ashok Amane and Shilpa Phadke claimed the Helios Watches as prize for the distance of 21 kilometers. In PRBM 2015, participants ran in four different categories between 3km, km, 10km and 21km.
The third edition of this half marathon which started from BMCC Ground witnessed more than 7000 participants from all walks of life running enthusiastically which included DCP Of Pune Police Sarang Avhad, Commissioner of PCMC Rajeev Jadhav, Sudhir Darode and Anand Jog of Darode Jog Properties, Gajendra Pawar of Pinnacle Group, Manish Sabade of Guardian Developers. Preeti Arawade, Director of Pune Races, Nikhil Shah founder of Pune Running were present on the occasion.
The PRBM 2015 Marathon was supported by Vyankys, Vespa and Darode Jog Properties. This year funds raised through PRBM 2015 will be donated to ‘Samvedana’ an NGO that lends a helping hand to the financially weak patients for complex and expensive surgeries and saves their lives.
