Daund, 29th October 2024: On the evening of Monday, 28th October, two Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) buses collided on the Pune-Solapur highway in the Varvand area. The accident resulted in the immediate deaths of two individuals, including a woman. Authorities report that 40 to 50 passengers sustained injuries, with three in serious condition.

The deceased have been identified as Namdev Baburao Adhav (78) from Chinchpur in Beed district and Suvarna Santosh Hole (38) from Virobawadi in the Daund taluka.

According to reports, the MSRTC bus traveling from Pune to Solapur lost control after a two-wheeler suddenly appeared in front of it. The bus crashed through the divider and collided with an oncoming MSRTC bus on the Tuljapur-Pune route. Both the driver and conductor of the involved buses were severely injured.

Police stated that the injuries affected 40 to 50 passengers, and efforts to file a report on the incident continued late into the night.
