Day Care Eye Surgeries To Be Eligible For Insurance Claim, Maharashtra Government Will Amend Law: Health Minister Rajesh Tope

Pune, 11th December 2021: Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope today said that the government will expedite the inclusion of ophthalmological setups into the Day Care Centre under the present Registration Act. This will enable patients to take benefit of health insurance claims.

Tope addressed online – ‘POS Spectrum 2021’- a two days annual conference organized by Poona Ophthalmological Society (POS) at Royal Connaught Boat Club, Pune.

Dr Tatyasaheb Lahane, Brigadier Dr N S Mani were present at the conference as a guest of honour. This was the 14th year of the annual conference.

Dr Lahane informed the health minister regarding issues faced by people as the many surgeries are not included in daycare procedures covered under health insurance.

The minister gave a green signal to the request made by Dr Lahane.

Dr Sanjay Tekawade( organizing chairman of conference), Dr Rujuta Machave (organizing secretary), Dr Seema Khaire (honorary treasurer), Dr Prakash Marathe (Chief Trustee) welcomed guests.

A souvenir and directory were released in the inaugural session. Annual awards were distributed.

The conference discussed different issues related to fraternity and research papers were also presented. About 400 doctors participated in the conference.
