Daytime Burglary Gang Busted In Kondhwa, Pune Police Arrest Accused From Uttar Pradesh

Kondhwa, 25th January 2024: The Pune Police have successfully dismantled a daytime burglary gang operating in the Kondhwa area. The operation resulted in the arrest of two prime suspects, Ahmad Munna Malik (49) and Yasin Alimuddin Malik (47), both hailing from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

The Detection Branch, under the guidance of Assistant Police Inspector Dinesh Kumar Patil and Assistant Police Inspector Lekhaji Shinde, along with a team of dedicated officers, investigated multiple theft cases recorded during the day.

The breakthrough came when CCTV footage came, Police Constable Shahid Shaikh and Police Constable Santosh Bansude saw a suspicious presence at a crime scene in Rajdeep Complex, Undri. Through diligent analysis of approximately 150 CCTV footage, the suspects were identified as residing in a rented house in the Wanowrie area.

The accused, Ahmad Munna Malik and Yasin Alimuddin Malik were tracked to Pune Railway Station, where they were apprehended on January 20, 2024. Interrogation revealed their involvement in burglaries at Rajdeep Complex in Undri and Moledina Road, Geetanjali Society in Pune Camp.

Recovered from a junk shop in Hadapsar were stolen items totalling Rs 8 lakh, including Rs 2 lakh in cash and Rs 6 lakh worth of 10 tolas (approx 116 grams) of gold ornaments and silver items.

The action was taken under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) R Raja, and ACP (Wanowrie Division) Shahurao Salve, and Senior Police Inspector Santosh Sonawane. The team included Police Inspector (Crime) Sandeep Bhosle, Assistant Police Inspector Dinesh Patil, Assistant Police Inspector Lekhaji Shinde, and police personnel Vishal Memane, Nilesh Desai, Satish Chavan, Lavesh Shinde, Shahid Shaikh, Santosh Bansude and Laxman Holkar.
