Pune, October 21, 2020: Heavy rainfalls have ravaged crops on thousands of hectares in Maharashtra’s Marathwada region. In this regard, BJP MP Sambhaji Raje held a press conference in Pune today after he toured the floods-hit state.

He demanded that the state and central governments should not point fingers at each other but should help the farmers. “I travelled through the mud as well as on tractor and bullock cart. Unlike other politicians, I inspected the actual groundwork”, taunted Raje without mentioning CM Uddhav Thackeray’s name.

He further said,” Heavy rains have caused immense damage. Other tasks should be set aside, and a wet drought should be declared.”

The main demand of the farmers is to give a lump sum assistance of Rs 50,000 per hectare, informed Raje. When asked about educating farmers on internet usage, he responded, “99% of farmers do not know what Android is, so there is no use of geotagging.”

Meanwhile, a few days ago, ex-Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis also demanded CM Uddhav Thackeray to announce a wet drought in the state.

“If it is required, I am ready to represent the Maharashtra government in the center so that some relief is given to the farmers”, he summed.
