Pune: PMC Allows Libraries, Meditation Centres To Open With Some Conditions

Pune, October 21, 2020: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) today issued guidelines for the libraries as well as meditation centres, located outside the containment zones.

As per the order issued by the PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar, government and private libraries will be allowed to open from 8 am to 5 pm. They are required to follow the guidelines of social distancing and sanitation to prevent the spread of Coronavirus disease (COVID19).

The order also states that local weekly markets, including the animal market, would be allowed. Meanwhile, the Vipassana Center/Meditation Center will be allowed to start too.

The civic body chief also said that passengers arriving at the railway station by train should strictly observe social distancing and sanitation.

Any person violating the orders and guidelines issued by this office from time to time for the prohibition of COVID-19 shall be liable to prosecution.
