Deep Potholes, Waterlogging Plague Road to Symbiosis Lavale Campus, Viral Video Sparks Concern
Lavale, 30th July 2026: A video shared by a biker on Instagram has brought fresh attention to the deteriorating condition of the road leading to Symbiosis International University’s Lavale Hill Top Campus. Captioned, “Average Symbiosis Student crossing three ecosystems just for 75 per cent attendance,” the clip captures vehicles navigating deep, rainwater-filled potholes, uneven road surfaces and heavy traffic along the uphill stretch.
The visuals show two-wheelers, cars and pedestrians struggling to make their way through the damaged road, with several potholes concealed beneath stagnant rainwater. The narrow carriageway, coupled with monsoon waterlogging, has further slowed traffic and raised safety concerns for daily commuters, particularly students, cyclists and two-wheeler riders.
Residents and commuters say the condition of the road has also affected access to the Symbiosis University Hospital, with frequent bottlenecks and unorganised traffic jams making it difficult for patients, ambulances and visitors to reach the facility during peak hours and heavy rainfall.
With the monsoon exposing the extent of the damage, students and regular commuters are calling for immediate repairs and better drainage infrastructure to prevent recurring waterlogging and restore safe access to one of the city’s major educational campuses.
