Defamation Case Against Kangana Ranaut For Comment on Elderly Woman Mohinder Kaur

Bhatinda, January 8, 2021: The woman has filed a defamation case in the court on the Bollywood actresses Kangana Ranaut, who came into controversy by tweeting on the elderly woman farmer Mohinder Kaur. Kangana had tweeted about the elderly woman Mohinder Kaur and commented that such women come to perform for a hundred, two hundred rupees. The farmers across the country opposed this. Apart from this. Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh also clashed with Kangana over this. Both had also exchanged abusive words.

Labh Singh husband of Mohinder Kaur said that Kangana has insulted his wife by making such remarks. They received various calls from relatives and were defamed. His relatives called him and questioned him on why he needed to carry the money. Moreover, a couple also said to them, “Granny should not have taken money from you, she should have taken it from us.”

Advocate Raghuveer Singh Bahinwal said that a case has been filed against Kangana in Bhatinda’s JMFC on the complaint of Mohinder Kaur. The case will be heard on January 11. He stated that this tweet of Kangana has hurt his reputation in society. People are now beginning to think that she has been going into protests to date with a hundred rupees only, so on January 4, the case was filed in the CJM court by Mohinder Kaur. After this, the case was transferred by the CJM to the court of Junior Magistrate Tanvi Sharma. The first hearing for the case will be held on 11 January.

Following Kangana’s tweet, a video of elderly Mohinder Kaur, a resident of village Jandia in Bhatinda district was also revealed in which the woman gave a strong reply to Kangana. She stated that they own 13 acres of land and that they need not go anywhere for a mere 100 rupees and that if Kangana does not have work due to Corona then she can work with other labourers in her fields.

Mohinder Kaur said that she is 87 years old. She still works in agriculture. The woman warned Kangana that they should think before writing this. This comment is not made on them but on the women of Punjab, so Kangana should apologize for this.
