“Digital Marketing vs Marketing in a Digital World”

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Pune had organized the 2nd Edition of Marketing Conference with the theme “Digital Marketing versus Marketing in a Digital World” on 23rd September 2015 in Pune.

Punekar News's photo.Speaking at the Inaugural session Mr Anil Goel, Chairman, CII Pune Zonal Council & Chairman, Duroshox Ltd said that people are consuming more and more digital content on a daily basis – on mobile phones, laptops, desktop computers at work, and more – and companies that have not yet recognized this in their marketing strategies need to adapt fast. The main benefits of conducting your marketing digitally are the ease with which results can be tracked and monitored, he added.

Mr Ninad Karpe, Chairman, CII Marketing Conference 2015, Past Chairman, CII Maharashtra State Council & CEO & Managing Director, Aptech Ltd highlighted the importance of digital marketing in today’s marketing scenario.

Punekar News's photo.Mr Kiran Khalap, Co-Founder & Managing Partner, chlorophyll said that all the stakeholders can communicate with other stakeholders through ‘digital’ media. To quickly change our mindset in marketing, he suggested involving stakeholders in brand evolution, making the corporate brand transparent and creating likability rather than awareness. He said, “Everything is a click away, but the content has to be authentic”.

Mr B Ravi Teja, Vice President – Global Consulting Businesses, Nihilent Technologies Pvt Ltd spoke on how to use digital world technologies to make marketing happen. Digital is transforming our lives, he added.

Mr Sudhanshu Vats, Group CEO, Viacom 18 Media Private Ltd focused on ‘Brand building’. He said that most fundamentally brands are based on human needs. Brands stand for brightness and marketers needs to adapt with the environment. They should have the ability to weave stories around it. The new digital world is a lot about collaborations and the return on investment is going to be extremely high. The customers are now going to be the brand ambassadors, he added.

The interactive day-long conference livened up with twitter handle, live streaming and quiz and an online feedback mechanism. The conference was well attended by 150+ captains of Indian industry.
