Dilip Walse Patil Will Be New Home Minister Of Maharashtra
Mumbai, 5 April 2021: Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has sent a letter to the Governor of Maharashtra requesting him to accept the resignation of Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.
The letter also said that Dilip Walse Patil should be given charge of the home department. The letter also requested Patil to hand over the additional charge of the Labor Department to Hasan Mushrif and State Excise Department to Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar.
Deshmukh today resigned as Home Minister after the Bombay High Court ordered CBI to conduct an enquiry against him against allegations of Rs 100 Crore ‘hafta collection’ in Mumbai.
Dilip Walse Patil is a very close associate of NCP chief Sharad Pawar. He is 7 times MLA from Pune’s Ambegaon assembly constituency since 1990. He had started his career as Pawar’s Personal Assistant (PA) and held multiple ministries earlier and was chairman of assembly between 2009 to 2014.
