Director and actress shooting porn movies arrested from Gujarat
Mumbai, 13 February 2021: The Mumbai Police has arrested the director involved in shooting porn films. A total of nine people, including an actress, have been arrested so far in this case. On Wednesday, a senior police official said that the gang that made porn movies was busted last week.
He said that the ninth accused, the 40-year-old man, was arrested by the property cell of the city’s crime branch from Surat in Gujarat on Tuesday. The official said that the accused used to direct nude films of the actors and sent them to the Over the Top (OTT) platforms. The officer said that the accused had been involved in such acts for over a year. He was produced in court, after which he has been sent to police custody till 15 February.
Last week, the police property cell raided a bungalow in the Madh area of Malwani area and busted a gang of models and actors making porn films. They used to upload these porn movies on social media apps and websites. Police official said that initially, five people were arrested, and later three more people were arrested. He said that those included an actress and a foreign production house representative has been arrested.
The officer said that a woman has alleged that she had been forced to act in porn films. The police have also lodged an FIR on his complaint. A total of two FIRs have been registered so far. The police have seized six mobile phones, laptops, cameras, memory cards, and other devices worth Rs 5.68 lakh. The officer said that a case had been registered against the accused under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code, Information and Technology Act, Indecent Depiction of Women (Prevention) Act.
