Doctor Reveals When BCCI president Sourav Ganguly Will be Discharged from Hospital

Kolkata, January 4, 2021: Sourav Ganguly, president of one of the most powerful boards of cricket – Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may be discharged from the woodlands Hospital in Kolkata on Tuesday.

 

This information was provided by the Hospital’s CEO Rupali Basu while talking to the reporters on Monday. Ganguly was working out in his gym at home in Kolkata on Saturday morning where he suddenly stunned after complaining of chest pain after which he was rushed to the hospital. He underwent angioplasty and a medical examination at the hospital. Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent his wishes for the early recovery of BCCI president Sourav Ganguly upon hearing about the incident.

 

On Sunday Sourav Ganguly tested negative on the Covid-19 test. The CEO of Woodland’s Hospital, Dr Rupali Basu, while giving the latest information about Ganguly’s health stated that he is currently fine. He underwent angioplasty in which three blocks were found in his artery. Dr Basu said that she met him and had a chat with him earlier in the morning.

 

He was accompanied by his wife Dona and brother Snehasish. He was spending time with his family and having his breakfast when Dr Basu visited him. The hospital said in its bulletin that the health of the former captain is being closely monitored and he is being taken complete care of.

 

Jay Shah, Secretary of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and a friend of Sourav Ganguly visited the Woodlands Hospital on Monday and left immediately after visiting the former captain. Sourav Ganguly, 48 years old, has been busy since the start of IPL 2020. He was spotted at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi in late December where the statue of former Union Minister Late Arun Jaitley was installed.

 

Before Sourav Ganguly, India’s first World Cup winner, Kapil Dev, was admitted to a hospital in the capital Delhi on October 23 after suffering a heart attack where he underwent angioplasty surgery. Kapil recovered within a few days and was seen on the golf field.

 

Sourav Ganguly, one of India’s most successful captains, has played 113 Tests, 311 ODIs in his international career. He has scored 11,363 runs in ODIs and 7,212 in Tests. He has captained 49 Tests and 147 ODIs for India. After 1983, Team India entered the finals of the 2003 World Cup under the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly.
