Don’t give reservation on the basis of caste – Raj Thackeray
Pune – Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Raj Thackeray on Friday said that reservation should not be given on the basis of castes but it should be granted on the basis of economic status.
He appealed the Maratha community not to fall for petty politics of the state government. Don’t give up your lives, he added.
Thackeray was speaking during the MNS Melawa (gathering) in Pune.
Kakasaheb Shinde had committed suicide during Maratha reservation agitation, while another youth also killed himself. Thackeray appealed community not to indulge in violence as people have appreciated their peaceful protest in the past.
