Draft Voter List for Pune Municipal Corporation Elections to Be Published on November 6
Pune, 14th October 2025: The State Election Commission (SEC) has announced the schedule for the preparation of ward-wise and polling station-wise voter lists for the upcoming Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections. The draft voter list will be released on November 6, and after reviewing objections and suggestions from citizens, the final list will be published on December 10.
The SEC has directed the civic administration to begin work on preparing the voter list. A total of 165 corporators will be elected in the forthcoming elections — 40 wards will have four members each, and one ward will have five members.
According to the SEC, the voter list registered for the Assembly elections as of July 1, 2025, will be used for the municipal elections. This means that voters who registered after July 1, 2025, will not be eligible to vote in the upcoming PMC polls.
The voter list, sent by the Election Commission to the PMC, includes around 35 lakh voters from areas under the city’s jurisdiction, including Kasba Peth, Parvati, Pune Cantonment, Kothrud, Vadgaon Sheri, Hadapsar, Khadakwasla, Shivajinagar, Shirur, and Purandar Assembly constituencies. The PMC will now divide these voters ward-wise before publishing the draft list.

Key Guidelines Issued by the State Election Commission
The total number of voters in the draft and final lists must match the total number of voters in the area.
The draft list must include only voters within PMC limits; names from outside the city should be excluded.
Duplicate names must be marked with specific symbols, as done in Assembly elections.
The SEC has clarified that it will not include new names, remove names, or make corrections in the voter list used for Assembly elections.
The civic body should record objections such as clerical errors, inclusion of voters from another ward, or names of deceased persons still on the list.
If the court stays the election process after the voter list preparation begins, the Municipal Commissioner must immediately submit a report to the Election Commission.
The announcement marks the official start of election-related activities for the PMC polls, setting the groundwork for finalizing the voter base before the much-anticipated civic elections.
