Drone Technology, Cyber Security on NCC Chief’s Agenda During Pune Visit
Pune, 29th September 2026: Director General National Cadet Corps (DGNCC) Lt Gen Virendra Vats will visit Group Headquarters NCC Pune on September 30 to review various initiatives being undertaken by the NCC in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
Lt Gen Vats will be accompanied by Maj Gen Vivek Tyagi, Additional Director General (ADG), Maharashtra Directorate.
During the visit, the DGNCC will review key NCC initiatives focused on youth empowerment, skill development and social responsibility. These include the participation of NCC cadets in the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme and the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
The review will also cover specialised skill development initiatives in emerging areas such as drone technology and cyber security. NCC’s efforts to strengthen cadets’ capabilities in disaster management will also be assessed.
According to the Pune Defence PRO, the initiatives are aimed at equipping NCC cadets with future-ready skills, encouraging social responsibility and preparing them to contribute to nation-building in support of the vision of a developed India by 2047.
During his visit, Lt Gen Vats will interact with officers, cadets and Permanent Instructor (PI) staff of the Maharashtra Directorate. He is also scheduled to review ongoing NCC activities and discuss measures to strengthen training, outreach, skill development and youth engagement across the directorate.
