Tulapur/Pune, 7th June 2026: In a major crackdown on illegal nightlife and drug activity, the Pune City Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell raided a massive unauthorized rave party, dubbed Project X House Party, at a farmhouse in the Tulapur area in the early hours of Sunday, June 7.

A total of 78 individuals—including seven chief organizers, 15 bouncers, DJ and sound providers, lighting operators, staff, and several patrons—have been booked under various sections of the law. They had taken liquor permit from the excise department which was valid only up to 11.30 pm on Saturday (June 6).

THE RAID AND SEIZURES

The raid was conducted around 2:00 AM on June 7, following a specific tip-off received by the Anti-Narcotics Cell. The target of the raid was a sprawling farmhouse located at Gat No. 541, 549, and 546/1, Tulapur Road, Tulapur, taluka Haveli, Pune district.

The action was taken under the guidance of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Tejaswi Satpute and DCP (Crime) Gauhar Hasan.

We received information regarding an unauthorized party being conducted at Tulapur under the jurisdiction of Lonikand Police Station. Accordingly, a team comprising 15 officers and 65 constables conducted a raid at the venue at 2.30 am on Sunday, informed DCP Hasan.

Upon entering the premises, the police team, led by Assistant Police Inspector Anil Laxman Survase of the Anti-Narcotics Cell-05, found a large-scale rave party in full swing. Police seized:

  • A substance resembling Marijuana (Ganja).
  • Banned hookah pots and toxic hookah flavors.
  • Large quantities of liquor and alcoholic beverages served without valid permits.
  • High-end DJ consoles, sound systems, and flashy lighting equipment operated without official authorization.

FARMHOUSE OWNER AND KEY ORGANIZERS BOOKED

Farmhouse Owner

  • Narendra Sunderlal Chugh (Accused No. 53): Charged with knowingly permitting his farmhouse premises to be utilized for organizing an illegal rave party, distributing alcohol without a license, and harboring unlawful activities.

The Chief Organizers (Accused No. 1 to 7)

The police have identified seven main organizers who conspired to conceptualize, promote, and execute the illegalProject Xevent. They are:

  1. Yash Raja Choudhary (Age 26) – Resident of Chinchwad, Pune (Event Management company Star Light Entertainment).
  2. Aiman Saif Shaikh (Age 27) – Resident of Kondhwa, Pune (Event Management company Blaze Entertainment).
  3. Saif Asif Sayyad (Age 30) – Resident of Kondhwa, Pune.
  4. Siddhant Santosh Dhuwali (Age 29) – Resident of Kondhwa, Pune.
  5. Dishant Santosh Dhuwali (Age 24) – Resident of Kondhwa, Pune.
  6. Ali Rauf Pansare (Age 27) – Resident of Kondhwa, Pune (Businessman).
  7. Avesh Shamshulhaq Ansari (Age 25) – Resident of Dharavi, Mumbai, currently residing in Kondhwa, Pune (Businessman).

According to the FIR registered at Lonikand police station, these seven organizers directly violated the prohibitory orders on unlawful assembly issued by the Pune Police. They exceeded all permissible operating hours, played loud music, distributed narcotics, and illegally served liquor to the guests.

EXPLOITATION OF MINOR FOR ILLEGAL JOBS

A serious aspect of the investigation revealed that the organizers had employed a minor child to work at the venue, forcing the juvenile to supply and serve alcoholic drinks to the patrons. Due to this, stringent sections of the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act have been added to the FIR.

ROLES OF OTHER ACCUSED INDIVIDUALS

The police have categorized the remaining 71 accused based on their roles in facilitating the illegal party:

1. Bouncers (Accused No. 8 to 22)

Fifteen security guards/bouncers were hired to maintain security and enable the smooth conduct of the illegal rave:

  • Durvesh Ramchandra Sarvagod (41, Tadiwala Road, Pune)
  • Anil Arun Chavan (43, Market Yard, Pune)
  • Abhishek Nagnath Payal (28, Kondhwa, Pune)
  • Vicky Anil Kadam (35, Hadapsar, Pune)
  • Rahim Kadar Todgal (35, Khadki, Pune)
  • Akash Babaso Ingale (27, Shikrapur, Pune)
  • Gurappa Yash Kushalkar (45, Dharavi, Mumbai / Kondhwa, Pune)
  • Sagar Dattatray Garudpatil (37, Kondhwa, Pune)
  • Akash Madhukar Salve (26, Kharadi, Pune)
  • Aniket Ashok Akhade (27, Camp, Pune)
  • Anand Vishwanath Bimade (27, Wagholi, Pune)
  • Atmaram Madhukar Dahiphale (27, Wagholi, Pune)
  • Vedant Rajendra Jadhav (21, Daund, Pune)
  • Anand Vasantrao Bhagratkar (35, Viman Nagar, Pune)

2. DJ and Sound System Operators (Accused No. 23 to 27)

These individuals illegally set up and operated heavy sound equipment, blasting music past permissible hours without licenses:

  • Suraj Chandrakant Pokale (29, Ganeshnagar, Dhayari, Pune – Sound business owner)
  • Ashish Rajesh Reddy (26, Hadapsar, Pune – Sound business owner)

3. Lighting Providers (Accused No. 28 and 29)

  • Hrishikesh Vijay Patil (24, Dighi, Pune)
  • Hariom Dattatray Phadtare (22, Dighi, Pune)

4. Party Patrons / Attendees (Accused No. 30 to 52)

Twenty-three attendees were rounded up and booked for participating in the rave and consuming alcohol/intoxicants:

5. Service Staff / Bartenders / Chefs (Accused No. 54 to 78)

Twenty-five staff members hired to manage housekeeping, kitchen, and bar counters, directly assisting in serving unauthorized liquor:

SECTIONS CHARGED IN THE FIR

The Lonikand Police have registered a comprehensive case under a multiple-act FIR:

  1. Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023:
    • Section 223: Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant.
    • Section 200: Using a false declaration as true.
    • Section 212: Harboring an offender.
    • Section 3(5): Joint criminal liability (conspiracy).
  2. Maharashtra Prohibition Act:
    • Sections 65(e), 68, 77, 78, 82, 83, 84, and 86: Concerning illegal manufacturing, possession, sale, and consumption of liquor without valid licenses or permits.
  3. Maharashtra Police Act:
    • Section 33 read with Section 131: Violation of rules and public licensing guidelines.
  4. Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985:
    • Section 20(b): Illegal possession and consumption of Cannabis (Ganja).
  5. Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), 2003:
    • Sections 3 and 4: Violation of restrictions on tobacco/hookah consumption in public places.
  6. Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act, 2015:
    • Sections 75 and 79: Concerning exploitation of child labor and exposing a minor to hazardous environments or contraband.

Investigators are tracing the supply chain of the seized contraband (marijuana and hookah flavors) and analyzing digital communication to determine how the party was marketed. Further investigations are underway.
