The accident occurred around 3:30 AM when the speeding luxury vehicle, driven by Shubham Rajendra Bhosale (26)—a PG student at DY Patil College in Pimpri Chinchwad—hit a Splendor motorcycle (MH 12 VH 4340) while returning from a party in Hinjawadi.

The rider, Kunal Manoj Hushar (23), a resident of Chinchwad, died on the spot due to severe injuries. The pillion, Prajyot Deepak Pujari (21), also from Chinchwad, sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.

Police Book Accused Under Culpable Homicide Charges
A case has been registered under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to culpable homicide, at Sinhagad Road Police Station. Two of the four have been taken into custody, while the others are admitted to the hospital.

Earlier, the deceased’s family alleged that the driver was intoxicated and initially questioned the police’s delay in conducting medical tests.

Responding to this, DCP Kadam assured that medical procedures were promptly initiated and that a comprehensive investigation, including EDR (Event Data Recorder) and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) analysis, is in progress.

“The vehicle owner is the mother of the accused driver. All four had left Hinjawadi between 2 and 2:30 AM, and the accident occurred an hour later. We are investigating the incident using scientific and technical methods,” DCP Kadam added.
